How to Become a Notary Public in Illinois

Illinois Notary Requirements:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • Residency: Resident of at least 30 days

  • Bond Required: $5,000 for the 4-year commission term

  • Application Fee: $10

  • Must be able to read and write English. Must not have been convicted of a felony, and no notary commission revoked in the last 10 years
