Pennsylvania Notary requirements:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old

  • Residency: Resident of or have a place of employment or practice

  • Bond Required: $10,000 for the 4-year commission term

Step by Step instructions on how to become a Pennsylvania Notary

1. Complete and Pass state mandated Notary exam.
2. Complete the Notary Application and submit application and exam completion to state.
3. Once it’s approved with the state, they will send your commission certificate.
4. Purchase your Notary Supplies and $10,000 Pennsylvania Notary Bond
5. Submit the bond, oath of office, & register signature with Prothonotary’s office in the county where the notary’s business is located.
