How to Become a Notary Public in Mississippi

Mississippi Notary requirements:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old – Must be able to read and write English. Must be a citizen or legal
    permanent resident of the United States.

  • Residency: Resident for minimum of 30 days

  • Bond Required: $10,000 Notary Bond

  • Application Fee: $25

  • Must be able to read and write English, no commission revocations, no felony convictions, not currently on parole.

Step by Step instructions on how to become a Mississippi Notary.

1. Purchase a Notary Bond and any supplies you will need such as a stamp/embosser, journal and recommended online notary training.
2. Complete the application process with the state
3. After the application process is complete you will be commissioned as a notary.
