Step by Step instructions on how to become an Indiana Notary.

1. Purchase a $25,000 Notary Bond and any supplies you will need such as a stamp/embosser, journal and recommended online notary training.
2. Obtain an Indiana State Police Criminal History Record
3. After the application process is complete you will be commissioned as a notary.
4. Once you receive your notary commission certificate, please forward a copy to us (info@nnbagency.com )so we can ship your supplies.

How to Become a Notary Public in Indiana

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old

  • Residency: Resident or primarily employed in IN

  • Bond Required: $25,000 for the 8-year commission term

  • Application Fee: $75

  • Not be disqualified to receive a commission under IC 33-4-13 and IC 5-8-3-1
    IC 33-4-13: Have a conviction or civil ruling involving deceit, dishonesty or fraud
    IC 5-8-3-1: Have a conviction where the sentence imposed exceeded six (6) months
